How David Tlale Shut Down Nelson Mandela Bridge

The very much anticipated David Tlale show, which was the last one for the Jo'burg Fashion Week 2011 - Autumn/Winter Colletion happened on Saturday evening at the Iconic Nelson Mandela Bridge.

You have got to be a great person to shut down Nelson Mandela bridge and it is without a doubt that David Tlale is that great person. Even though I did not attend the show, I was worried about the moody Jozi weather. It started drizzling then it rained a bit after which there was some seriously cold breeze.
From reading everyone's tweets on this show, one can conclude that the crowd was not to happy about being kept waiting for over two hours in the cold. Show was scheduled to start at 22:30PM on Saturday and ONLY started on 00:15AM on SUNDAY morning.!  People were literally freezing their A S S es off. Needless to say, many people were very unimpressed by this "Drama King" stunt pulled by David Tlale. Even Dion Chang blogged about it this morning,I quote: "Fashion will forever be fickle. Never toy with people's loyalty, and NEVER let the show become more important than your craft." Anyhoo, one can only hope that David Tlale has learnt something about being fashionably late from all the bad publicity he is receiving post the show.

Here are some of the 92 garments that David Tlale was showcasing:

I guess you can't always belee da hype or can you?
