The J n B Met held in Cape Town over the past weekend was surely an amazing experience for a 'first-timer' like myself. It is believed that 50 000 00 people attended the Met this year, wow!! My friend Sammy and I jetted off on Friday the 28th....in the wee hours of morning, we were too excited to mind LOL. Saw Lucia Mthiyane and Theo Kgosinkwe at OR Tambo Airport. Arrived to lovely weather in Cape Town.
View of Table Mountain from the Waterfront - beautiful!
These little flags were all over Cape Town town, they added a buzz to the Met.
Went shopping at the V 'n' A Waterfront (story for another blog). Due to being extremely tired on Friday evening, we could not attend any pre-parties. On the day of the Met, we first hit the beach ( typical "Jo'buger" I know) and got our tan on before the race-course. Unfortunately we got carried away at the beach and only made it to the Met at 4pm. *sad face*
Sammy and I after our "roasting" session at the beach!
Ours was the Jet Lounge marque, it was very well put together. Without further ado, here are some pictures from people who caught out eye at the Met:
By far the best dressed lady at the Met - Bonang Matheba in a Gert-Johan Coetzee number.
Jen Su and her LARGER than life hat with Somizi.
(I wonder what those hanging 'thingamibobs' are....by the armpit on Jen Su's outfit??)
"The YFM Twinz" Hlelo and Ntando - they were dressed by Diamond Face Couture
The ZAR afterparty at a place called Waterfront Studios was quite spectacular, with Ashton Martins and Julius Malema in the scene. Kenny Kunene really knows how to pull all stops for a grand opening. I believe they are still gonna work on the venue a bit.
One of the Ashton Martins at ZAR Cape Town.
Oh ja...horses LOL
Cape Town came alive and the weather acted in accordance with the J & B Met. Lovely! Lovely! Lovely!
