The New Face of LEGIT!

Legit Clothing Store is known for using local celebrity faces who design their clothing lines and have them sold at various Legit stores country wide. Bless the soul who came up with this idea, its a great initiative...sort of gives one a glimpse into 'the stylish minds' of their favorite celebrities and I can almost say, its unique to Legit Stores *I stand to be corrected*. Kudos Legit.!

The new face of Legit Clothing Store is none other than.....*drumroll* ...Sade Giliberti.!! We all remember Sade from her YoTV days and she is currently the presenter of SABC's 'So You Think Yuu Can Dance."  Congratulations to Sade, hope your range will live up to the hype.

The fierce Sade:

I did expect some tom-boyish-ism from Sade and a picture says a thousand words:

Interesting range, I love it already....this cute dress sold me to it:

Sade joins the likes of Noni Gasa, Bonang Matheba and Zizo Beda in being the celebrity face of Legit:

Noni Gasa:
Not sure how successful her range was but she sure is one stylish fashionista.!

Bonang Matheba:
Bonang, is the definition of South Africa's "IT" girl. Her range sold faster than hot cakes and I must say, the clothes were superb, I even got myself a few items. The jeans, had a perfect fit and the T-shirts; I could go on and on. Your Girl B* (as she is affectionately known) has moved into bigger and better as she now has her own handbag range: Baby Star!, check it out on her website:http://www.bonangmatheba.com/

Zizo Beda:
This former Miss SA Teen is more than just a pretty face, she is currently the local face of Garnier, owns her own entertainment company and is still a Selimathunzi presenter! The designs on her range with Legit were amazing, the ultimate girly-girly stuff, pity, the same cannot be said the same about the material though :-(. I hope Sade's will be better.

OH My GAGA....'Meat' Me At The MTV VMAs

She's done it before for Vogue Magazine (Japan) in a 'Bikini' and decided to do it for MTV, in a 'Dress'....you have got to love her.

Lady Gaga has gotten a lot of tongues waging  over one of her MTV Music Video Awards outfit.....and 'meat' is the bone of contention.!

The outfit that got PETA beefing with Gaga *pun intended* LOL:

She even got a hat and purse to match... I say "keeeyout" *cute*:

Of course I have to admit that I am biased when it comes to Lady Gaga. I love her for being; unapologetic, emancipated, artistic and for having sooo much presence, my word.! She's herself and if you don't like her...u'll have to deal with that alone or with whoever else might be interested. Not only did she get the world talking, she also won 8 awards that night....Go Gaga.!! But on a serious note, who am I to judge? I eat meat and wear leather, in fact, so do most of the people complaining.

The Design:

Here is what she had to say for herself on the Ellen Degeneres' show (Ellen is a vegan and presented a veggie bikini to Lady Gaga *Love Ellen's sense of humour*)..:

"Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth, however, it has many interpretations but for me this evening: If we don't stand up for what we believe in and if we don't fight for our rights pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones."

Lady Gaga is no stranger to outlandish outfits so why are people worked out over her meat dress?? Let her be.!!

At the 2009 VMAs:

And you get surprised when she wears meat, have you seen these?:

All I can say is "G-A-G-A Ooooh la la, G-A-G-A Ooooh la la."

In MY Perfect World (Sentimental)

So everyday I think of ways to be more of what I want to be and not what I have to be (look deeper into it, it will eventually make sense).

I am a big big dreamer...cues Hansa's ad "u Vuyo is such a big, big dreamer." LOL I dream of my perfect world and my mission is to work towards that world and have this vivid scrap book containing picture of my perfect world, in my mind... so here goes;

IN THE PERFECT WORLD - I have already finished my Honors and Masters Degrees in IT (this I have to do simply because I love the feeling of starting something and finishing it, that feeling of achieving something that feeling that not even money can buy), I have a Degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising....

I travel the world scouting for beautiful things....I attend international fashion shows the same way black folk attend church...lol. I also have some qualification and in-depth in Photography...I love beautiful things and aint no better way of capturing them than through photography.

I wake up, cook (I don't even like cooking that much nor am I that good at it but in the perfect world I do mmmkay), host dinner parties at my very OWN place; your cheese and wine parties...yeah. I spend time with my three best friends, when and as I please.

In the perfect world I weigh 55Kilograms, have no cellulite, wear size 30 and have the most flawlessly perfect skin...*"vain-some" much* LOL. In the perfect world I am the most amazing guardian parent to my late sister's kids.

In the perfect world, I drive a white BMW 1 Series (3 Door).

Until I get there, I'm gonna work towards that perfect world....one day at a time, one dream at a time.!

For The GOSSIP GIRL In All Of Us

I recently just started watching Gossip Girl on SABC3, "Welfare TV 3" - as we like to refer to it on Twitter http://twitter.com/Coco1808 (we just said goodbye to Season 2 and I already cant wait for Season 3). YES, I did not get the Gossip Girl memo while I was at varsity, so excuse me while I blog LOL.

I watch Gossip Girl for a LOT of reasons but none as prominent as my love for their wardrobe, word.! Can we have a moment of silence for that wardrobe *................* Thank you. It is TDF ( to-die-for).

Everytime I watch Gossip Girl I churn with jelousy at the ability of each girl to project her personality through beautiful, beautiful .......abso-freaking-lutely beautiful clothes.

My favourite Gossip Girl qeeens.

 1. Blair
Blair, Blair, Blair.....not only does she have the most interesting character, she has the most sophisicated wardrobe I have ever seen on a high school kid, one could swear she is Royalty. Blair is the ultimate defination of an 'uptown girl'. Everything of hers is ALWAYS in place. She always looks like she stepped out of a Coco Chanel catalog.

How to achieve Blair's look:
#Tailored classic pieces ( dresses, skirts, coats, jerseys, shoes that are to-die-for)...lots of them
#Headbands and lots of girly details
#Lively colors
#Tights
#You will also need the airs and grace of a Queen to pull this look off.
* Personally, this can never be my daily look, I need an event to dress like Blair.Oh and Blair NEVER wears pants...any type of pants EVER.!

2. Serena
Wow, this one for me just hits the spot...the way 'X' marks a spot LOL. I absolutely adore Serena's wardrobe, it is similar to mine in a lot of ways (she obviously has MORE and MUCH costly ensembles than I do). Its funky, playful and very much inspired by Kate Moss. Serena is not afraid to take risks with her look and leave you wondering 'wow, I never thought that would look good together, nice'.

How to achieve Serena's look:
#Jackets ... *She doesn't just wear any jackets, detail is EVERYTHING. *PS: The best places to shop for these is vintage shops and second hand shops *best kept secret shhh* ...in Swaziland we used to call such shops "Emasekenini"  trust me on this one LOL.
#Skinny jeans ...very much like Kate Moss and fit is the 'make-or-break' of skinny jeans.
#Dresses ...she wears her dresses with the most unexpected detail.
#Boots ....I love ALL her boots and the way she uses them as an 'accessory'.
#Layered necklaces and bangles

3. Jenny
Jenny has the kind of wardrobe that makes you wish you had the guts to pull off. She reminds me of Avril Lavigne, come to think of it, they do look alike....in a way. She is sometimes *gothic* and has SUCH an eye for fashion. Jenny knows her body and what works for her. Most of her clothes are easily available in most retail shops, you just have to have an eye for detail to master this look.

How to achieve Jenny's look:
#Hats and lots of hair accessories
#Short skirts and short dresses
#Tights
#Bright colored clothes
#Long jackets
*PS: Jenny's wardrobe is not costly, she has found what works for her and can easily make her own clothes (only for the brave hearted) as she knows how to make it work.
4. Vanessa
For me, this is one of the most interesting characters...she is not afraid to be herself, she is unique and it shows in the clothes she wears. She has a playful I-dont-take-myself-too-seriously-and-if-you-have-a-problem-with-that-too-bad look LOL. That just summarizer her look in a nutshell. She loves color and somehow always stands out in a crowd.

How to achieve Vanessa's look:

#Skinny jeans
#Funky jackets
#Black tights with short skirts and dresses
#BRIGHT colors
#Ankle boots and sneakers
#BOLD jewelery and a bold personality to match.

With all that said and done, we need to give props to the man responsible for such a *Great* wardrobe.

His name is Eric Daman http://www.zimbio.com/Eric+Daman. He used to be assistant wardrobe designer for Sex and The City, what a great guy. Intelligent and very fashion forward. *I wish he was my friend...or personal wardrobe coach.

You know you love me;

XOXO.!

*S*-*P*-*I*-*N*-*G* Has Indeed Sprung

Haven't blogged in a WHILE and how appropriate is it that I blog again on spring. Glad winter is gone (used to be my favourite season...not anymore.. lets not go into the reasons why).

OK, out with the old and in with the new. Spring means a lot of things to a lot of people but to me it means CHANGE: change of wadrobe, change of habits (no more waking up smack deep in the middle of the night to eat *side-eyes self* LOL)...lose the winter weight and get ready to show some skin *YAY*....afterall if you've got it, flaunt it, I say. Well, you cant really show some skin and be confident about it unless u are in good shape...plus there are all kinds of exciting spring activities that require one to be in their best form.

Fabulous I Am.! is all about being fabulous, yes I said it and this season is all about my favourite things, sunshades (big ones, funky ones, colourful ones and the classy ones that never go out of style), watches (all shapes, colors and sizes), all things short (dresses, skirts, shorts...u name it), killer heels, sandals and brightly coloured nails, hats , bikinis , funky handbags and lotsa lipgloss and accessories.

MY Spring Checklist:

#Dresses: Be seen in dresses of all styles, lengths, colours and makes. The best places to buy flirty dresses(for me) are YDE, Identity and believe it or not, Mr Price, depending of course on the occassion and reason for wearing the dress. *The aim is to look good without injuring your bank balance :-).

Maxi Dresses...(yeah remember the ones moms used to wear) they are back in vogue. (Wear them with flat sandals...I actually cant imagine a maxi dress in anything other than flat shoes)

#Shorts: Two words: 'BE DARING'....but not at the price of your comfort.

#Classy does it all the time: My ultimate timeless look is denim, white vest and stiletoe pumps. ( Can be worn absolutely anywhere)

Remember the 5 commandments of style:
#1. Know thy body....*Dont wear short things if all u will be showing are stretch marks and orange peel.
#2. Comfort is an all time priority...*Ill fitting clothes, shoes etc; no matter how expensive, are a HUGE no no!
#3. If its not flattering, u shudnt be bothering.... *We are different, wear what looks best on you.
#4. Thou shant be a fashion slave...... *style is what remains once the fashion has faded.
#5. True to thy self remain.....*Do not wear anything that does not reflect who you are.! *NB*

One of my favourite qoutes:
"To be a woman is to know yourself, know what you represent and what works for you. To be "in fashion" could be a disaster in 90% of women. You are not a page out of Vogue" - Author Unknown
